E-Porfolios offer all honors scholars the opportunity to showcase academic achievements, learning experiences, career goals, and future outlook. You can think of it as a interactive resume, but in the form of a website. The e-Portfolio is also a “living” document: it should change and grow as you accumulate experiences such as conducting research, participating on a study abroad, completing an internship, writing your thesis, or participating in student organizations, athletics, or travel.
Because honors scholars are involved in a wide range of activities from research to serving on student leadership boards, the e-Portfolio serves as a hub of academic experiences that captures the “big picture” of a scholar’s goals, accomplishments, and outlook.
In the future, employers, graduate schools, and others may visit your page to understand more about each student as a scholar and see their accomplishments.
Things you can do but certainly not all you can do:
- Showcase and highlight short-term and long-term educational goals
- Create a personal or professional blog to reflect on important milestones such as study abroad, research accomplishments, and your entire undergraduate experience
- Record and list completed courses along with reflections on those courses that were most important or enjoyable
- Highlight your scholarships, honors, and awards
- Showcase and reflect on your community service work during your time at UT
- Compile research papers, writing, projects, or assignments that represent your best work
- Display photographs of important milestones during your college career, e.g. honors induction, community service activities, study abroad experiences, award ceremonies
- Publish a personal “mission statement” or educational philosophy
- Attach your resume/curriculum vitae for download
- Make a contact page so that interested parties may contact you
