While volunteering at the Emerald Youth Foundation in college, I learned about an opportunity to serve through AmeriCorps. During my gap year between college and law school, I took this great opportunity to serve as a Learning AmeriCorps Member during my gap year between undergrad and law school. I was responsible for the learning lab activities, lesson-planning, and implementing curriculum. I worked with the urban youth in the Lonsdale/North Knox neighborhoods of Knoxville.
